GUSTAV....
Alcune foto mi ritraggono con i capelli sparati sui lati e lo sguardo perso, leggermente strabico.
Mi definiscono un rivoluzionario dell'arte pittorica, un capoccione di fine diciannovesimo secolo.
In questi giorni, con il mio amico EGON ed altri 17 artisti abbiamo formato un nuovo gruppo autonomo "I SECESSIONISTI" e ci siamo trasferiti nella nuova struttura di Vienna chiamata proprio "PALAZZO DELLA SECESSIONE".
Sono orgoglioso della nuova sede disegnata dal mio amico architetto JOSEPH MARIA OLBRICH, soprattutto perchè ha preso spunto da un mio precedente disegno, certo lo ha modificato, ma il risultato è eccezionale.
Cosa abbiamo di speciale?
Siamo dei RIVOLUZIONARI ed abbiamo deciso di prendere le distanze dai cosiddetti artisti TRADIZIONALISTI, quelli che usano canoni più accademici, quelli privi di originalità tanto per intenderci.
Io sto sperimentando una nuova forma di pittura, libero, libero da ogni costrizione!
Che ne verrà fuori?
Siamo degli innovatori, dei teppisti del nostro tempo...
Vogliamo creare una nuova forma d'arte adatta al tempo che stiamo vivendo.
Noi gridiamo a gran voce: "Facciamolo in nome dell'arte e per salvare l'arte!!!"
Mi ricorderanno per questo, ne sono sicuro.

Ah! Dimenticavo... Ho dipinto tanto la figura femminile e sono estrememente convinto e desideroso della parità dei sessi.

Some photos portray me with spiky hair on the sides and staring, slightly cross-eyed.
They call me a revolutionary of pictorial art, a genius of the late nineteenth century.
These days, with my friend Egon and 17 other artists have formed a new independent group "SECESSIONIST" and we moved into the new building in Vienna called "BUILDING OF SECESSION".
I am proud of the new headquarters designed by my friend, the architect JOSEPH MARIA OLBRICH, largely because he was inspired by an earlier design, it certainly has changed, but the result is outstanding.
What's so special?
We are Revolutionaries and decided to move away from so-called artists TRADITIONALISTS, those who use more academic fees, lacking originality so to speak.
I'm experiencing a new form of painting, free, free from any constraint!
What will come of it?
We are the innovators, the thugs of our time ...
We want to create a new art form suited to the times we are living.
We cry with a loud voice, "Let's do it in the name of art and to save the art !!!"
They will remember me for this, I'm sure.

Ah! I forgot ... I painted a lot the female figure and I am most convinced and eager of gender equality.
